La Galerie C est heureuse d'annoncer sa participation à Paris Photo. Première foire internationale dans son domaine, Paris Photo est un catalyseur unique de rencontres et d’échanges, ainsi qu’une plateforme essentielle pour la diffusion de la photographie.
Curiosa 2023 présente le travail de seize artistes émergents, de neuf pays différents. À cette occasion, le travail de Massao Mascaro sera présenté sur le stand SC14, dans le secteur Curiosa. L'opportunité pour la Galerie C de poursuivre la collaboration qu'elle a instauré avec le photographe qui a participé à l’exposition collective Depuis que les portes s’ouvrent à se tremblement de l’air dans son espace neuchâtelois au printemps 2023. Nous présenterons sur le stand SC14 une sélection de la série Sub Sole (du latin, sous le soleil), créée en collaboration avec la Fondation A Stichting. Cet ensemble de photographies réalisées entre 2017 et 2020, dans la région de la mer Méditerranée, suit l’itinéraire mythologique du voyage d’Ulysse: Ceuta, Naples, Athènes, Palerme, Istanbul,Tunis et Lampedusa. Carrefour des cultures, berceau des mythes fondateurs, la Méditerranée est, aujourd’hui plus que jamais, marquée par les migrations, les exils et les déplacements. Au cours de sept voyages et de nombreuses rencontres fortuites, Massao Mascaro part à la recherche des jeunes qui habitent et traversent cette région.
La présence de ce travail à Paris se poursuivra par la participation du photographe à l’exposition Prendre le soleil au Hangar Y à partir du 16 décembre 2023.
Massao Mascaro signera son livre Sub Sole qui est paru en 2021 sur le stand de Chose Commune le samedi 11 novembre à 15h.
À cette présence de la Galerie C à Paris Photo, s'ajoute également la signature des publications Strassenbilder de Lukas Hoffmann et Vivants de Matthieu Gafsou en présence de l’éditeur Atelier EXB à la Galerie C Paris le vendredi 10 novembre entre 18h et 20h.

Galerie C is delighted to announce its participation at Paris Photo. The leading international fair in its field, Paris Photo is a unique catalyst for encounters and exchanges, as well as an essential platform for the dissemination of photography. Curiosa 2023 presents the work of sixteen emerging artists from nine different countries. On this occasion, Massao Mascaro's work will be presented on stand SC14, in the Curiosa sector. This is an opportunity for Galerie C to continue the collaboration it has established with the photographer who took part in the group exhibition Depuis que les portes s'ouvrent à se tremblement de l'air at Galerie C Neuchâtel in Spring 2023. On stand SC14, we will be presenting a selection from the Sub Sole series (Latin for “under the sun”), created in collaboration with the A Stichting Foundation. This set of photographs, taken between 2017 and 2020 in the Mediterranean region, follows the mythological route of Ulysses' voyage: Ceuta, Naples, Athens, Palermo, Istanbul, Tunis and Lampedusa. A crossroads of cultures, the cradle of founding myths, the Mediterranean is today more than ever marked by migration, exile and displacement. Over the course of seven journeys and numerous chance encounters, Massao Mascaro sets out to find the young people who live in and cross this Mediterranean.
The presence of this work in Paris will continue with the photographer's participation in the exhibition Prendre le soleil at Hangar Y from 16 December 2023.
Massao Mascaro will be signing his book Sub Sole, published in 2021, on the Chose Commune stand on Saturday 11 November at 3pm. In addition to Galerie C's presence at Paris Photo, the publications Strassenbilder by Lukas Hoffmann and Vivants by Matthieu Gafsou will be signed in the presence of publisher Atelier EXB at Galerie C Paris on Friday 10 November between 6pm and 8pm.
