David Moses
Born in 1983, David Moses lives and works in Berlin. After having studied archaeology at the University of Tübingen, the artist began art studies at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) in the classes of Valérie Favre.
David Moses is plural artist who excels in the sublimation of space by delicately alternating abstraction and figuration. The subject enters a diabolic dance, vigorously mixing with colour. Whether it concerns his drawings or his paintings, the work of David Moses seem to be orchestrated by a hectic symphony. His evolving canvases release a strange heaviness, a pause that conveys a moment of time in suspension.
In 2013, he was awarded the Helmut-Thoma Stiftung Prize for graphics printing. He has participated several times in collective exhibitions at Galerie C: “Klasse Valérie Favre” (2013), “La Vengeance de Mathilde” (2014) and “Papier, Bitte!” (2016). In addition, and in collaboration with Galerie C, he presented his work at the Drawing Now (2015, 2016).
